This book gives a lot of good advice on different business practices and how to be a great leader and colleague。 Generally, I think the information in this book is useful for most people to know。 I decided to give this book 3 stars because some of the content felt a bit repetitive and towards the second half of the book I felt like I had already got the point the author was making so it was hard to stay interested。

The book is systematic, starts inwards and moves outwards and presents situations as examples along with frameworks for better internalization。 I quite liked the ITR framework because of it's similarity to finance, and the personal identity audit was hard hitting。 Much recommended。 A good thing about the book is the sequence you can stop reading it any time you think you aren't ready for that stage, and come back later。 The book is systematic, starts inwards and moves outwards and presents situations as examples along with frameworks for better internalization。 I quite liked the ITR framework because of it's similarity to finance, and the personal identity audit was hard hitting。 Much recommended。 A good thing about the book is the sequence you can stop reading it any time you think you aren't ready for that stage, and come back later。 。。。more

Perhaps it’s because I’ve been an entrepreneur for a while now, but I uncovered nothing new in this book。 I started listening to it, because it came highly recommended by Ray Dalio, who lauded the author, Patrick Bet-David as “one of the most exciting thinkers I’ve had a chance to converse with”。 The journey of the author is undoubtedly admirable and inspiring, but it was not as paradigm shifting as anticipated。

Strategy? I struggled to find an ounce of business strategy in this book。 This was pure hubris。 A vessel for his own perceived grandeur。 Spare yourself this drivel。

Really great, condensed book summarizing key learnings from other notable business and leadership reads。 Patrick Bet-David not only pulls nuggets from other books but also layers in his own experience - the good and the bad - to help paint a thorough picture on the five themes he suggests mastering when planning out your next steps in business or personal life。Other reasons I'd recommend this book:- Short and sweet snippets。 Being a fan of bullet point lists, Bet-David uses this extensively thro Really great, condensed book summarizing key learnings from other notable business and leadership reads。 Patrick Bet-David not only pulls nuggets from other books but also layers in his own experience - the good and the bad - to help paint a thorough picture on the five themes he suggests mastering when planning out your next steps in business or personal life。Other reasons I'd recommend this book:- Short and sweet snippets。 Being a fan of bullet point lists, Bet-David uses this extensively throughout the book for quick takeaways。 This makes it easy to reference back。- He does the readings so you don't have to。 For the well-read, the learnings are not new but they are great stories with clear reminders on how to make it work (and not work)。 For the new-to-leadership-books reader, there's a lengthy section "Recommended Readings" which is a recap of all books he quotes and discusses if you wanted to dig in deeper。 - Not all rainbows and sunshine。 I appreciate the conversation transcripts and sample dialogue to convey the lesson。 As he's said in the book, he's learned the hard way in many scenarios and openly shares those with the reader。 I appreciate the tactical takeaways。 - A LOT in a little。 The book is only ~250 pages but packs a ton in。 No one concept goes in too deep, which makes this a great reference guide to grab first。 I have pages and pages of highlights and am excited to use these tactics for future planning。Highly recommend if you're looking to get better at anticipating your next steps and how to do so effectively。The caveat:- Intro is lengthy and it takes a while to ramp into the content。 First chunk is the preamble about how he's /going/ to tell you what he'll teach you (instead of going right into it)。 The background story sets good context for the ambition and motivation, but definitely could have been shortened。 If you get past that it's smooth sailing。 。。。more

Where to start。 The big idea of this book ("think five moves ahead") is basically a good one and there are helpful tips to mine here and there。 But there's too much of what I call Dumb Salesguy Philosophy to wade through, nuggets of wisdom like "There are lions and sheep in this world。 Be the lion" and citing (fictional) mobsters as models to emulate。 You're much better off reading Dan Pink or anything in the Traction series。 Where to start。 The big idea of this book ("think five moves ahead") is basically a good one and there are helpful tips to mine here and there。 But there's too much of what I call Dumb Salesguy Philosophy to wade through, nuggets of wisdom like "There are lions and sheep in this world。 Be the lion" and citing (fictional) mobsters as models to emulate。 You're much better off reading Dan Pink or anything in the Traction series。 。。。more

Everyone should read this book。 Even if you are not planning to start a business, read the first few chapters。 You will definitely benefit from it。Pat shared the 5 strategies along with his tactics and lessons。 The stuff he shared in this book are from his experience。 In the book, Pat shared how he went from nothing as an immigrant to success。You will see how he thinks and approaches people and problems。His YouTube channel, Valuetainment is also good。This is a book that I will definitely read ag Everyone should read this book。 Even if you are not planning to start a business, read the first few chapters。 You will definitely benefit from it。Pat shared the 5 strategies along with his tactics and lessons。 The stuff he shared in this book are from his experience。 In the book, Pat shared how he went from nothing as an immigrant to success。You will see how he thinks and approaches people and problems。His YouTube channel, Valuetainment is also good。This is a book that I will definitely read again。 It takes time to apply and absorb the gems in this book。 。。。more

I always enjoy Patrick Bet-David's content。 He's more real than many of the other business mentors because he realises not everyone can or wants to be the next Google or Facebook。 Lots of real strategies to learn and implement in any business。 I always enjoy Patrick Bet-David's content。 He's more real than many of the other business mentors because he realises not everyone can or wants to be the next Google or Facebook。 Lots of real strategies to learn and implement in any business。 。。。more

PBD writes a compelling business book providing many examples, stories on how to move from amateur level to grand master level of applying business rules and strategies to lead you to be a better leader。 The first part of the book is interesting, insightful playbooks and the concept of thinking five steps ahead。 The latter part of the book becomes a set of deja vu similar to many other business books。

I often avoid books like this as typical self-help / salesman / motivational speaker /Tony Robbins style fodder, but decided to read this one for something new in the "business" realm。 Turns out it was a fast, easy, motivating read that got me to recenter some of my ideas about my own business and personal/professional growth。 Genuinely worthwhile as an entrepreneur to remind yourself of some basics。 I often avoid books like this as typical self-help / salesman / motivational speaker /Tony Robbins style fodder, but decided to read this one for something new in the "business" realm。 Turns out it was a fast, easy, motivating read that got me to recenter some of my ideas about my own business and personal/professional growth。 Genuinely worthwhile as an entrepreneur to remind yourself of some basics。 。。。more

Good Book。 Like a grand master in chess, who sees 12moves ahead, an entrepreneur to become effective, one need to see five moves ahead, that's the summary of this book。 Good Book。 Like a grand master in chess, who sees 12moves ahead, an entrepreneur to become effective, one need to see five moves ahead, that's the summary of this book。 。。。more
